Williams Township

Williams Township is a rural community located at the bottom of Northampton County south of Easton and along the Delaware River.  Anything famous happen there? Not that I can recall.

Williams township was broken into smaller communities, there is Morgan Hill,  Cedarville, Stout's Valley, Rice's Corner, Bougher Hill, Coffeetown, Raubsville and there is the term out back in the township.

Places in Williams Township:

Frey Run State Park located on Route 611 and Royal Manor and Coffeetown Road.  Picnic tables and fishing in the Coffeetown Creek, Delaware Canal and the Delaware River, just south of Raub's Island.

Beaver Lock: Part of Roosevelt State Park which runs along the Delaware River and the Delaware Canal. Historical canal house and locks for the Delaware Canal.

Hexenkopf Rock: Private land located off Hexekopf Road, folk-lore has it witches used to meet there on Halloween night.  It's a rock formation that sticks out above the top of the trees in the middle of the woods.

Island Park, located on the Lehigh River, use to be the home of an amusement park.  Was flooded out and never reconstructed.  Great for bass fishing.

Events:

Williams Township Volunteer Fire Company Annual Fair.  Located on Morgan Hill Road, a fundraiser for the Williams Township Volunteer Fire company.  It's a week long event with local Pennsylvania Cooking, Ice Cream, Games, Live Entertainment (County Music) and Rides for the Children.  The Event usually takes place the last full weekend in July.
